Persian Popinjay founder, Hallie Coletta, was raised in Rockland County, NY, surrounded by people in the arts. From film and Broadway screenwriters, composers and actors to world-famous cartoonists and painters, she was inspired from day one by these wonderful creative misfits.

While studying art abroad in Venice, Italy, her love of gold leaf, blown glass and gemstones was awakened by the art around which she was surrounded. She became a monogram designer for a jewelry manufacturing company for ten years learning about jewelry production in the process. The past thirty years, Hallie has worked as a scenic artist, painting sets for film, Broadway, and television.

Creating Persian Popinjay is an exciting way for Ms. Coletta to express herself after a decades-old hiatus from the jewelry business. Her new line is handmade with semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, brass, Czech glass, carved jade and silk tassels. She uses her vast artistic experience and skill— her impeccable eye, attention to detail, knowledge of color and design— to bring this elegant jewelry collection to you.
